ABOUT
Fredericksburg Roller Derby is an athletic team and nonprofit organization that adheres to the rules and regulations developed and maintained by the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association.
MISSION
Our mission is to grow a community of skaters, officials, volunteers and fans who love camaraderie, teamwork and competition.
OBJECTIVE
Our objective is to create a safe and inclusive space, for people in the LGBTQIA+ community and/or from different ethnic backgrounds, in which to empower and unapologetically champion all cis and transgender women, non-binary, intersex and gender expansive participants to reach their highest potential on and off the track.
Our Heritage
Fredericksburg Roller Derby (FRD) is Virginia's premier flat track roller derby league. FRD, originally 540 Roller Girls, was created by a small group of women in 2011. Since than we have grown into a successful WFTDA ranked flat track league.
How does our league work?
FRD is a non-profit league run entirely by the skaters who contribute their free time, talent and experience to manage every aspect of the league. We are currently seeking referees, Non-Skating Officials (NSOs) and volunteers. FXBGRD hosts a reoccurring Incoming Skater Program where new skaters can learn Derby skills and hopefully join the team. Be sure to like and follow our social media for up to date information.
Currently, FRD practices at Cavalier Family Skating rink and skates under the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) rule set. We are currently a ranked WFTDA league.
About Us
WFTDA is the national governing body for women’s amateur flat track roller derby and is comprised of skater-owned and operated leagues nationwide that have united to lead this growing sport.
Worried skates aren’t for you? No problem! Join Fredericksburg Roller Derby as a Non-Skating Official (NSO).
Not sure that playing Derby is for you. What better way to learn the game from the inside out than to Referee. Fredericksburg Roller Derby is always recruiting referees.
