Learn the basics of skating
We teach you from the ground up. Stops, turns, falling small and derby stance are some of the first skills that you learn. Our ISP coaches prepare practice schedules that set up our new skaters for success and confidence on wheels.
Graduate levels as you progress in your skills
We pay attention to the individual progress of our skaters and promote them as we deem safe. Our goal is to introduce new levels as safely as possible. And we stress the idea that everyone progresses at their own level. We encourage you to understand that your body will learn as it goes as well as encourage you to skate and practice outside of the program.
Learn about the rules and gameplay
Roller Derby is a complex, high impact sport. We teach you the rules of gameplay as well as strategy and track skills as your progress from the basics. Our refs and experienced skaters are enthusiastic about teaching us penalty calls, legal contact and plays for game.
Join our team
Just like everything else, we all pay dues. As a member of ISP, you will pay $25 for the duration of the 7 week program. WHEN you succeed in the program, dues become $50 per month and include our expertise training, voting rights for league issues and roster opportunities.
